Beauty | My Facial Skincare Routine ~ combination ~ blemish prone skin

I am pretty content with my current skincare routine so I thought I'd share it with you! I have recently been put on antibiotics to help clear my skin, in addition to a few prescribed face products which I'll tell you about in a bit. I have combination skin which is prone to redness and blemishes and at the moment my skincare routine is targeting any old scaring and helping to prevent any new spots from arriving or outstaying their welcome.

I am in no way a trained dermatologist and I am using the products recommended to me by my GP and a range of products which I find have helped my skin dramatically. Make sure to go and see a skin specialist about your skin too see what would work best, these are just some ideas to inspire and share my skin routine!

I do a very similar routine morning and night, the only step I haven't photographed is the miceller water I use to take my make-up off. I find it works well to take it off before washing my face for an extra cleanse.

Face Wash

I have two face washes that I tend to use alternatively, the first is Dermalogica daily microfoliant. This is a powder which you rub together into wet hands to make it change into a foam. It's really softening for the skin and helps to reduce scars dramatically. The other wash I like to use is the Garnier SkinActive Pure Active Intensive Daily Exfobrusher for spots and blackheads. This is a much stronger wash which I love to use when my skin needs that little more help! It makes my skin feel incredibly clean, although it can be quite drying.

Face Mask

Next up I like to use a face mask once a week and I have been loving using this Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb tissue mask as it's so hydrating and counteracts the drying spot products I use.

Prescribed Products

I have been prescribed two spot products, in the morning I use Dalacin which is a lotion and in the evening Epiduo which is a gel. I can't tell to be honest what they're doing because as I said before I am also taking an antibiotic, so which products are actually making the difference is hard to tell. However, I have been using these as I've been told and the combination of the products seem to be working. At the start I saw a massive improvement and now it has slightly come to a stand still, but I have faith!

Moisturiser

With this cold weather I need a really moisturising cream for any dry patches and I have been using the Polaar Genuine Lapland Cream. It's really amazing, it's so hydrating and makes my skin feel so soft.

Lip Balm

Last but not least I really love using Burts Bees lip balm. It has a cooling sensation which makes me believe it's moisturising and healing my lips!
