Lifestyle | What to do in London for 2017 New Years Eve?

Unfortunately it's now coming to the time of the year that means Christmas is well and truly finished! I think Christmas is a time spent with family and now we've moved onto New Year, a time spent with friends! So here are a few ideas of how you can spend your New Years Eve in London.

Fireworks

I went to this once in 2013 and of all honesty I hated it! I was just way to young to go, the crowds were unbearable and people were loud and horribly drunk. The year after I went they changed it to a ticket only event which means they can now control the amount of people they allow in and it also means people have actually planned to go up to the fireworks and they don't just end up there after a heavy night of drinking. Tickets are £10 and you can book a maximum of 4 tickets, when booking you choose the viewing area you want to stand in and you can't swap on the day, so choose wisely! You can only book your tickets HERE.

Fireworks Cruise

If you want to see the fireworks but in a more relaxed and civilised manner how about going on a dinner cruise on the River Thames? City Cruise have a range of different packages to help bring your New Year in with style. Check it out HERE.

Natural History Museum

I am a massive museum goer and the idea of being in a museum out of hours sounds very exciting! So if you want to party big this New Years Eve then check out the Natural History Museum Under the Sea party. For £129 you will have a themed night filled with drinks, light refreshments, dancing and party games. You'll also be able to look at the following exhibitions; Whales: Beneath the surface, Venom: Killer and Cure and Wildlife photographer of the year. Fancy dress with an under the sea theme is also encouraged!

Club Night (Club de Fromage)

There are tons and tons of events happening in clubs around London, so it's definitely worth searching what's happening at your favourite place. After researching I came across Club de Fromage's New Years Eve spectacular and it sounds incredible! At the party there will be; a ball pool, bouncy castle, pyro show, balloon drop, confetti cannons, giant balloons and The Compton Organ at midnight. It's £23.90 for a standard entry and that sounds worth it for an amazing night! You can buy your ticket HERE.

Go for a lovely meal

If I could choose an outing for New Years Eve then I'd definitely choose somewhere fancy for dinner! There are some amazing restaurants to choose from and most will cost you a pretty penny as they bump up the prices for this special night! Here are a few ranging in price for you to check out or just gawp at the price!

The Ritz - 6 course black tie dinner and a private fireworks display - £1,500 per adult
Galvin at the Window - 5 course dinner and fireworks display - £495 per adult
Wahaca Southbank - 5 course Mexican Dinner, Cocktail welcome drink and Champagne at midnight - £250
Zizzi - 3 course and prosecco - £25.95
Cafe Rouge - 2 course - £19.95
Carluccios - 2 course - £17.95 (add dessert for £3)

Stay in!

There's no shame in staying in on New Years Eve, it's been made into such a huge thing and expectations are set incredibly high but when you wake up on January 1st it's just another normal day really!! So if you want to still have money in your bank account but celebrate a little how about throwing a house party for your friends? Or if you want to go even smaller, then pop the TV on and watch the fireworks, crack open the prosecco and cook all the party food Iceland can get you!

I hope you enjoyed my ideas and that I've posted this earlier enough for you to now go and book any tickets you may need for New Years Eve!
