Beauty | Urban Decay DE-SLICK Primer Review

Recently I've been getting incredibly frustrated with my skin, mainly due to the fact that it gets to about 2pm and my makeup separates on my chin. It's the strangest and most horrible looking thing, I'd be interested to hear if this happens to anyone else? I've tried numerous foundations and powders to try and fix this issue but it's never worked and after ranting about it to anyone who would listen, everyone came back with the same answer, you need a good primer!

So my hunt for the best primers for oily skin began and my research led me to testing the following primers;

NYX Shine Killer
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
Cover FX Mattifying Primer
Too Faced Hangover Primer
Benefit Porefessional
Urban Decay De-Slick Primer

I have already tried 4 of the primers in the list so decided to go and test the two left which were Cover FX Mattifying Primer and Urban Decay De-Slick primer. Honestly in the store it's hard to tell what will work on my skin but due to the lady in the Covent Garden Urban Decay store being so knowledgeable and explaining so much to me I decided to go with their primer!

First up we have to talk about their packaging, I love the colour palette for the box and bag so I was very happy to be walking about cheerfully swinging my purchase! The actual packaging for the primer is in a really sleek and modern bottle and it looks bloody lovely on my dressing table! It feels like a very luxurious product to use. It's also very practical as it has an airless pump so you can get every tiny drop of primer out of the bottle.

This is an oil controlling primer which helps keep your skin shine free for up to 8 hours. Not only will it banish oil it also promises to make it easier to apply makeup! So how does it work? This primer is oil free and has a mix of clay (veegum) and silica which mixed together can absorb three times of its own weight in oil. It also has aloe vera which helps to keep the skin moisturised. The main thing about this primer is that you need to dab it into your skin, don't rub it into your skin and you can use a tiny amount. As this primer is made for oily skin it's also important to only put this on oily sections of your face and use another one for the rest of your face.So I wear this on my chin, nose and forehead and oh my goodness it actually works!

My makeup stays on all day without having to blot or powder it and I couldn't be happier! I feel a lot more confident to wear less base makeup now as it  stays on anyway. My face feels fresh and clean all day and I just feel very pleased with the outcome of this product!

I'd love to know if you use this or any other primers? I am considering trying their setting spray after my Mac Fix Plus finishes as Mac base makeup doesn't seem to do anything special for me! I might now be an Urban Decay covert!!

KEEP SMILING
