A Christmassy day in Bath

On the 15th December I woke up at 6:30am and it wasn't because I thought it was Christmas! But I had a train to catch to go to one of my favourite places of all, Bath. I was pretty proud of myself for doing the whole train route alone and getting there on time and in one piece, even if I did slightly ruin it when I got to Bath Spa train station, and existed out the wrong place, but it all worked out well as I found Niamh standing in the rain waiting for me! We had a really lovely day, firstly hitting the Christmas market where we saw Ricky Gervis, although I did say his name like 'gerrrvis' and apparently it's actually like 'gervvaaiss'. It's the best Xmas market I've been to, it was huge and had so many lovely and unique stalls. Not sure why they shut it so early but the 15/12/13 was their last day for it.

We also passed the abbey where Niamhs family sword is, pretty cool. We went in to find it but it wasn't out. Outside was this statue which was obviously feeling a little chilly.

We felt obliged to go to the December 25th store which is a Christmas shop (nah you don't say) that's open all year round! It's pretty small inside but there are a lot of xmas decorations to choose from, whatever your colour or theme choice is.

No trip to Bath is ever complete without connecting with Jane Austen! If you're a Janeite, like myself, then make sure to visit the Jane Austen Centre there too. This time round I found Jane related things whilst wandering around, which made me very happy indeed :)

After the market we had a mooch around most of the other shops and we both made a few cheeky purchases. Then when supper time came we went to the Gourmet Burger Kitchen, which is handily situated right next to the station. I had a banana milkshake, a classic beef burger and skinny fries. It was so delicious and exactly what I needed after a day of lots of walking!

    1. The skinny fries there are so good and they have this hei hei salt to shake over which is so yummy. My scarf is from the mens section in Primark, and it's a snood :)

    3. Yes a snood is a scarf in a loop, so it has no ends :)

    1. Lovely to meet a blogger that loves Bath and Jane Austen to. I am guessing by her house you mean number 4? That's where she stayed for a bit with family but I don't think it was her house
